HBOT Rental Troubleshooting FAQ

  1. Chamber Not Inflating

Common causes

  • Ensure the spring valve is in the upright position.
  • Check both chamber zips are fully closed.
  • Confirm all tubing is fully inserted into every connection and the oxygen concentrator.
  • Check the seal flap is sitting flush with no folds or kinks.
  • Ensure the pressurisation valve is fully closed before starting.

Key message
Most inflation issues are caused by a valve, zip or tubing connection and can usually be resolved within a few minutes.

2. Safe Depressurisation & Exiting

Before depressurising

  • Continue equalising your ears throughout the session by swallowing, yawning, sipping water or sucking a boiled sweet.

Ending the session

  • Slowly open the valve in a controlled manner.
  • Allow pressure to reduce gradually.
  • Never force the zip open while the chamber remains pressurised.

Important warning
Opening the chamber too early can damage the zip and may result in costly repairs that are not covered under normal use.

3. Chamber Deflating During Use

Things to check

  • Spring valve is upright.
  • Inflator key is correctly connected to the oxygen concentrator tubing.
  • Tubing has not become loose or disconnected.
  • Pressurisation valve remains fully closed.
  • Check for obvious leaks around tubing or seals.

Key message
If the chamber begins losing pressure unexpectedly, stop the session and check each connection before restarting.

4. Cleaning & Care

Routine cleaning

  • Clean the chamber regularly using the products supplied.
  • Wipe down all contact surfaces after use.
  • Keep the chamber dry and free from contamination.
  • Store accessories neatly after each session.

Important reminder
Maintaining good hygiene helps prevent cross-contamination and extends the life of the equipment.

Please return the chamber in the same clean condition it was supplied. Excessive cleaning required upon return may incur a cleaning charge.

5. Deflating & Preparing the Chamber for Collection

Before deflating

  • Disconnect and remove all tubing from the chamber and oxygen concentrator.
  • Clean the inside of the chamber using the cleaning products provided.
  • Dispose of the oxygen mask or nasal cannula appropriately. These are single-use items and should not be returned.
  • Ensure the chamber is clean, dry and ready for collection.

Deflating the chamber

  • Locate the spring valve on the chamber frame.
  • Press the spring valve in to release the air from the frame.
  • Allow the frame to fully deflate before attempting to fold the chamber.
  • Once completely deflated, carefully fold the chamber and secure it using the wrap provided, ready for collection.

Key message
Returning the chamber clean, fully deflated and correctly packed helps protect the equipment during transport and ensures a smooth collection process.
