Top 10 HBOT Rental Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What pressure does the chamber operate at?
The chamber operates at 1.5 ATA. It is a dedicated 1.5 ATA unit and cannot be adjusted to 1.3 ATA.
  2. How long does a session last?
A typical session lasts approximately 90 minutes, including pressurisation and depressurisation.
  3. Do I need to wear the oxygen mask?
Yes. The chamber is pressurised using ambient air, while concentrated oxygen is delivered through the mask or nasal cannula. Oxygen usually begins flowing
approximately five minutes after the system is switched on.
  4. Why do my ears feel pressured?
Pressure changes can affect your ears in a similar way to flying. Equalise them regularly during both pressurisation and depressurisation by swallowing,
yawning or gently pinching your nose and blowing.
  5. What should I do if my ears become painful?
Pause the pressurisation and try to equalise your ears. Never continue through significant pain. If the discomfort does not settle, safely end the session.
  6. Is it normal for the chamber to feel warm?
Yes. The temperature may rise slightly as the chamber pressurises, particularly during warm weather. Wear lightweight clothing, remain hydrated and use the
    supplied cooling system where applicable.
  7. What happens if there is a power cut?
The chamber will stop pressurising. Remain calm and use the internal pressure-release valve to depressurise the chamber fully before opening it.
  8. How do I exit in an emergency?
Open the internal emergency pressure-release valve and wait for the chamber to depressurise fully. You can then open the internal zip and exit. Never force the
chamber open while it is pressurised.
  9. Can I use the chamber if I have a cold?
A cold, blocked nose or sinus congestion can make it difficult to equalise your ears. Postpone the session if you cannot comfortably clear your ears and seek
    medical advice if necessary.
  10. What should I do if I notice a fault?
Stop using the chamber immediately and contact CryoCube. Do not attempt to repair, modify or dismantle the chamber, compressor or oxygen concentrator yourself.
